Australia's Federal Court found Apple abused substantial power in iOS app distribution and in-app payments; from March 2027 developers there can offer direct downloads and alternative payments with no Apple fee on third-party store purchases. Apple will seek a stay and appeal. My friends and Xsolla will be happy to help out with Aussie dev's.

From 30 October Meta can scrape anything a publisher's business account touches and use it in ad products, and the industry's answer is letters to regulators. That was the playbook on training data and it changed nothing. A re-think might be required.
Nobody has shown that cached and simulated web content trains the same model as the live internet, and that substitution is about to become load-bearing for the next generation of these things. The escape on 20 September explains the timing: a model with live web access is a model that can act, and a misconfiguration was all that was needed.
Six million preorders and $594m before launch, with most sales on the $100 edition. Whatever anyone has said about a seventy-dollar ceiling, players have paid a hundred without much of an argument, and that will reset how publishers price the next big release. The 74/26 split toward PlayStation also hands Sony a hardware win it didn't pay for.
I've never understood cloud gaming sold as a flat monthly fee, because the cost scales with usage and the fee doesn't. Selling hours in packs of ten, twenty-five and fifty matches the real economics better, and the ad-supported tier in testing alongside the packs makes sense: watch an advert instead of paying $11.99 for fifty hours.
BioWare's reputation was built on Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and the new owners have just cancelled one of them while keeping Jedi and Apex. Three months after the purchase closed, this tells me licensed IP and live-service revenue are what they paid for, and not the studio's own ideas.
